Spirit breeze past 1WIN to qualify for BLAST Premier Spring Showdown

The Russian side dominated the opposition in the Winstrike Spring CIS Cup.
Spirit defeated 1WIN 2-0 in the Winstrike CIS Spring Cup grand final on Sunday, earning $25,000 and a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, in which teams such as Astralis, Gambit, and Liquid await.
Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov's men were the highest-ranked team in the qualifier and confirmed their status of the main favorites throughout the event, eliminating K23, Winstrike, and EXTREMUM after they lost to 1WIN in the opening round of groups on Friday.

1WIN picked Nuke, the map on which they upset Spirit in the opening round of the Winstrike CIS Spring Cup, but it didn't work as well as the first time around. Abdul "degster" Gasanov and co. chained seven together after they lost the first pistol and conceded only four other rounds, securing a great advantage for their CT side. Spirit quickly won five in a row to reach map point and lost three rounds before wrapping things up.
Spirit struggled at the beginning of Overpass, but they fixed their defensive setup to grab the six last rounds of the first half, once again securing a 10-5 advantage. 1WIN bought a lifeline as they won the second pistol, but Spirit stole the next round with a forcebuy as degster hit three headshots with the SSG 08 and they closed the series with ease after that with continuous hits in the B bombsite.
